EBRD discloses details of loan portfolio in Tajikistan

DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, November 22. The project portfolio of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in Tajikistan amounted to 500 million euros, Trend reports.

According to the bank, the loan portfolio is intended for the completion of 69 projects.

The bank allocated 440 million euros, constituting 88 percent of the funding, to bolster sustainable infrastructure in Tajikistan.

An extra 33 million euros, or seven percent of the portfolio, went to financial institutions, while 26 million euros, or five percent of the portfolio, went to projects in industry, trade, and agriculture.

Furthermore, as of October 31, the EBRD's cumulative investments in Kyrgyzstan were 925 million euros spread across 163 projects.

The EBRD granted 131 million euros in annual assistance for Tajikistan projects in 2020, followed by 56 million euros in 2021 and 21 million euros in 2022.

The EBRD's new country plan, which runs until 2025, intends to strengthen Tajikistan's infrastructure, boost regional connectivity, and create job possibilities within the country.
