BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 27. The value of Iran's Gross Domestic Product (GDP), including crude oil, increased by 7 percent in the summer of this Iranian year (June 22 through September 22, 2023), compared to the same period last year, Trend reports.
Data from the Statistical Center of Iran shows the value of Iran’s GDP (including crude oil) was 2.19 quadrillion rials (about $52.1 billion) in the specified period.
In the corresponding period of the previous Iranian year, the figure stood at about 2.05 quadrillion rials (about $48.7 billion).
In addition, the value of Iran's GDP (excluding crude oil) was 1.85 quadrillion rials (about $44 billion) in the summer season, representing a 4.2-percent increase from nearly 1.78 quadrillion rials (about $42.3 billion) in the previous season.
During the summer season, Iran saw an increase of 25.6 percent in the value of GDP in the oil and gas sector, 7.5 percent in the services sector, 2.9 percent in the construction sector, 2.6 percent in the industrial sector, and 1.7 percent in the mining sector compared to the previous season.
At the same time, the country saw a decrease of 6.3 percent in the value of GDP in the energy sector and 3.2 percent in the agricultural sector over the summer season compared with the previous season.
Both the Central Bank of Iran and the Statistical Center of Iran provide statistics on GDP in the country; however, there is always a difference in the figures.
