BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 18. Azerbaijan Operating Company COP29 organized an environmental rally under the motto “Recycling for Our Little Friends” to promote collective participation and responsibility in environmental protection, Trend reports.
The event was held in Baku’s Icherisheher in partnership with the Icherisheher State Historical-Architectural Reserve.
During the event, COP29 volunteers gathered to build functional bird nests from pre-collected recyclable waste. Volunteers demonstrated the process of creating various types of bird nests from different kinds of waste and shared interesting facts about the benefits of waste reduction through reuse. The bird nests were then installed in Icherisheher Park, providing food and water for birds and small animals. Additional nests will be installed in the Gala Nature Reserve.
This initiative, led by COP29 volunteers, combines theoretical knowledge and practical activities to emphasize the relationship between waste management and the protection of the environment, flora, and fauna. It aims to raise public awareness about adopting sustainable habits, such as responsible waste management, in everyday life, and to highlight the invaluable role of collective efforts.
