BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 24. The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) stands for the acceleration of sustainable development initiatives for the Baku International Sea Trade Port (BISTP) and ESG (environmental, social, and corporate governance) projects, Trend reports via BISTP.
"These topics were the focus of the meeting on July 23 between the BISTP management in Alat and the acting UNDP Resident Representative in Azerbaijan, Alessandra Roccasalvo," the BISTP's statement said.
Additionally, the parties discussed creating tools to assess the impact of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) on the port's activities, BISTP's achievements in implementing decarbonization initiatives, biodiversity projects, and gender issues—specifically the participation of women in the port's work.
BISTP has an international 'Green Port' certificate from the IMO (International Maritime Organization of the UN).
