Azerbaijan, Baku, 14 January / Trend corr S. Babayeva / In 2007, the Azerbaijani Communications and IT Ministry provided 132,400 families with stationary phones, the Ministry reported on 14 January.
The total telephone numbers which were put into operation during that period made up 132,488 (66,120 - Baktelekom, 66,368 - Aztelekom).
In 2006, the Communications Ministry put into exploitation 280,594 numbers, which is 116,409 more than in 2005.
According to the government forecasts, the average number of telephone sets per 100 persons in Azerbaijan will increase to 19.8 by 2011, currently it is 15.
