Azerbaijan expects to see a dramatic rise in ADSL users in two-three months, Analytical Center for Information Policy Director Global Internet Policy Initiative Country Coordinator Yashar Hajiyev said.

"This will occur because Internet providers lowered their prices," Hajiyev said.

He said the rise in ADSL users will encourage the use of various Internet services such as e-banking.

The expert said the Internet tariffs will be higher than in Belarus or Baltic countries, which have direct access to European Internet resources.

He said Azerbaijan has almost the same number of Internet users as other Eastern European countries.

There are 20,000-30,000 ADSL users in Azerbaijan.
