Azerbaijan creates educational data center
Azerbaijan, Baku, March 5 / Trend /
A date center is being established in Azerbaijan as part of the State Program on Educational Informatization for 2008-2012. The center is central to implementing new technologies in the educational sector, ULTRA President Tahir Mirkishili said. The ULTRA is the operator of the project.
The center will become a place for storing information and educational resources, as well as providing "access" to the Internet at Azerbaijani educational institutions. A special protective grid was set up at the center and all technical conditions provided round-the-clock, backup operation of all equipment," he said.
The equipment will enable the center to conduct many functions. Special central anti-virus software will be automatically updated on school computers. All computers will be managed directly from the center. This will substantially increase computer maintenance. The center will also host Web conferences and store electronic educational resources. An e-card of Azerbaijani schools will be posted on the center's server.
