Number of Azerbaijani state-owned operator’s CDMA subscribers hit 15,000

The number of CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) subscribers of the state-owned Aztelekom production union at the Azerbaijani Communication and Information Ministry has reached 15,000, the ministry said.

CDMA network is accessible in 22 regions which include Zagatala, Shaki, Lankaran, Masalli, Ganja, Guba, Khachmaz, Shamakhi, Mingachevir, Imishli, Kurdamir, Balakan, Gakh, Agdam, Fuzuli, Sabirabad, Beylagan, Agdash, Agsu, Jalilabad and Yevlakh. About 60 percent of country's population is populated in the afore-said regions.

Azerbaijan's investments in updating telephone network and application of new technologies have reached 4 million manat since the early 2009. About 1.8 million was invested by Aztelekom.

State-owned BTRIB, Aztelekom and private Catel, Ultel and Aztrank render CDMA services in Azerbaijan.
