Azerbaijani state communications operator Aztelekom introduces new service

The state venture Aztelekom has introduced a new SMS service for operators of mobile communications of subscribers of stationary telephone network.

The service has been introduced on the basis of PSTN network.

Subscribers should dial 107 and inform about his/her will to send message to dictate text of the message and number of subscriber to whom he/she want s to send this message.

Subscribers will be able to send any of the exsisting operatos in the country after signing a contarct between Aztelekom and GSM (Azercell, Bakcell and Nar Mobile). This will also give an opportunity to participate in competitions througn SMS voting.

Subscribers will also be able to send MMS messages through the service.

Aztelekom at the Communications and IT Ministry was established 1992. The joint venture provides the whole country, except Baku and Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic, with telephone services, as well as international and long-distance communication. The company along with 57 telecommunications companies combines the International Automatic Telephone Exchange (IATE) and the Technical Unit of Cable Line (TUCL).
