SINAM and the Azerbaijani representation of Microsoft Corporation launched a joint project to localize an operating system (OS) Microsoft Windows 7 and Office applications Microsoft Office 2010 in the Azerbaijani language, SINAM Company Director of Business Development Islam Ahmedov told Trend on July 27.
"At present, we are determining the details of cooperation with Microsoft in this field. Localization provides the development of mui-files in the Azerbaijani language," Ahmedov said.
MUI-files localize the interface of operating system, which are in the folder / Windows/System32.
Earlier, SINAM localized Windows Vista operating system and office package of Microsoft Office 2007. Localization project was consisted of two parts: establishment of localization, which required creating a glossary and submitting it for public discussion. SINAM involved linguists, government officials and the public in development of a glossary, along with experts from Microsoft. These details should be discussed for further localization of new versions of Microsoft products, Ahmedov said.
Final version of Windows 7 should appear in October 2009. However, Office 2010 will be available in the first half of 2010.
