Azerbaijan will be represented with national pavilions at the World Exhibition Expo 2010 to be held May 1-Oct.31 in Shanghai under the theme "Better City, Better Life", the Azerbaijani Communications and IT Ministry reported.

Azerbaijan will be represented with national pavilions at the World Exhibition Expo 2010 to be held May 1-Oct.31 in Shanghai under the theme "Better City, Better Life", the Azerbaijani Communications and IT Ministry reported.

The ministry has already submitted content of the stand, which will be exhibited in the Azerbaijani national pavilion, to the Commerce Chamber.

The national pavilion will demonstrate Azerbaijan's achievements in various industries, as well as in ICT.

Based on the preliminary data, the transnational project on constructing East-West super informational highway, which is designed to connect a total of 20 countries and play the role of locomotive for the development of the region, also expected to be presented at the event.

Communications and IT Minister Ali Abbasov will represent the country at the event at the governmental level.

The motto "Better City, Better Life", under which Expo 2010 will pass, describes the new status of Shanghai as one of the largest economic and cultural centers of China. The exhibition will be attended by192 countries. The exhibition's pavilions will occupy an area of five square kilometers. Around $4 billion will be spent on the exhibition. All the Expo pavilions and the national exposures will be available for reading online for the first time in the history.

It is assumed that the number of visitors to Expo 2010 will reach 70 million people.
