Azerbaijan, Baku, May 18 / Trend H.Valiyev /
F.E.Tek will provide an opportunity to update an interactive GPS Azerbaijani routing map via the Internet, F.E.Tek CEO Fikrat Huseynbeyov told Trend.
Huseynbeyov said the maps were updated in early 2010. Significant changes were made to a map of Sumgayit and the Absheron Peninsula. Baku's address database has also been improved.
"The interactive upgrade system will be launched shortly and the first two updates will be available to users free of charge. Today, together with R.I.S.K., we will work to expand the functional component of routing maps at the regional level. Upon completion, which according to preliminary data will be completed by late 2010, the country's routing map will indicate all the cities and towns of the republic," he said.
Azerbaijan's map is protected from plagiarism. The map is based on software from Garmin.
