Azerbaijani State Administration of Radio Frequency analyzes electromagnetic impact of digital channels

Specialists of radio monitoring department of the State Administration of Radio Frequency of the Azerbaijani Communication and IT Ministry has begun to analyze the impact of electromagnetic channels of digital TV DVB-T, chief engineer Ilham Efendiyev told Trend.

Efendiyev said that the department bought analyzer PROMAX-TV Explorer-HD to conduct monitoring. It allows to identify the frequency parameters of high-definition channels and the level of their magnetic effects.

Today the main issue is to avoid raising the norms established by the laboratory of the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources.

Improvement of technologies today and development of new standards, opening new opportunities, can effectively reduce the impact of electromagnetic waves.

Digital TV is already in trial operation in the territory of Baku and Absheron peninsula. Broadcasting is carried out in MPEG-4 standard. It allows to broadcast one channel with 10 programs. The number of digital channels in Baku and Absheron peninsula will be increased to 20 by late 2010. During that period, digital television will also cover the territory Lerik, Shirvan and Ganja regions. A social package consisting of 10 channels will be made at a regional level.

In general, about 50 percent of the republic's territory will be covered by digital television by late 2010. Azerbaijan will fully pass to digital television in 2013, Teleradio PU said.
