Azerbaijan, Baku, Aug. 12 / Trend H.Valiyev /

The Azerbaijani State Radio Frequencies Administration of the Communications and IT Ministry started to build a point of centralized monitoring system in the Mehdiabad district, Administration Chief Engineer Ilham Efendiyev told Trend.

Efendiyev said a control center will also be located in the Mehdiabad point. Similar centers will also be involved in the Yeni Guneshli village and Ganja.

"Land for the construction of Ganja point has already been allocated, and repair work is underway in the Yeni Guneshli point. One of the key issues in building such system is its financial component. Terms, which reflect the technical parameters and the required investment in the deployment of the monitoring network, are prepared by the companies interested in the project and submitted to the ministry," Efendiyev said.

The projects involve PLATH GmbH, Rhode&Schwarz (Germany), Aero System (Canada), Tadiran (Israel) and Aselsan (Turkey), which have submitted proposals with technical data and investments for the project's implementation.

There are nine major points of essential controls and four subsidiaries that do not function in an automated centralized mode in Azerbaijan, Efendiyev said.

The project on creating centralized automated radio monitoring network is provided in the "State program on development of communication and information technologies in Azerbaijan for 2010-2012 (Electronic Azerbaijan)" approved recently.  The network is expected to be commissioned by 2012.

Construction of monitoring network envisages organization of the radio control air, creating data base reflecting the technical data of broadcasting stations in the country and which can affect the country's air space because of the geographical relief. The project will provide the optimal selection of location and parameters of transmitters.

The increase in the number of TV and radio transmitters in the country and abroad that may affect air space, requires update of the data base (existing database developed in 2004), which reflects their necessary  technical data.
