Rating: Azerbaijan is 66-th fastest nation for outgoing Internet traffic

Azerbaijan is the 66th fastest nation in a country-by-county ranking of the speed of outgoing Internet traffic published by Ookla, the company has said.

Ookla's Net Index rating of outgoing Internet traffic put Azerbaijain's average speed for the period from June 15 to July 14 at 0.99 megabits per second (Mbps), down 0.13 Mbps compared to the previous rating. As a result, the country now ranks at No. 66 (compared to No. 59 in the previous rating).

For outgoing Internet traffic Azerbaijan was ranked higher in the rating than Ireland (No. 69/0.93 Mbps), England (No. 70/0.92 Mbps), Brazil (No. 78/0.83 Mbps), Italy (No. 83/0.75 Mbps), Spain (No 87/0.73 Mbps), Israel (No. 93/0.70 Mbps) and Armenia (No. 110/0.59 Mbps).

The top three countries in the ranking for outgoing Internet traffic are South Korea (20.45 Mbps), Lithuania (15.67 Mbps) and the Aland Islands (15.16 Mbps).

Meanwhile, Azerbaijan ranked 92 for incoming Internet traffic with a speed of 2.54 Mbps, according to Ookla's Net Index.

The rate of Azerbaijan's incoming traffic was down by 0.28 Mbps compared to the previous monitoring period and its ranking on this index slipped by 11 places. Azerbaijan is now ranked No. 92 for incoming Internet trafficwith a speed of 2.54 Mbps.

For incoming Internet traffic Azerbaijan ranked ahead of Uzbekistan (No. 112/1.98 Mbps, Armenia (No. 121/1.59 Mbps), and Iran (No. 158/0.52 Mbps).

The top three nations for incoming Internet traffic speed are South Korea (34.91 Mbps), Latvia (25.14 Mbps) and Lithuania (24.82 Mbps).
