Azerbaijan to attend preparation of convention on rules of recognition of legal importance of e-documents

Information Security Commission of the Regional Commonwealth in the field of Communications (RCC) has been mandated to prepare a Convention on the rules of recognition of the legal importance of electronic documents in the international exchange of information between CIS countries, said the RCC.

The decision was taken during the 16th session of the Coordination Council of the CIS member states for Informatization attached to theRCC, which was held on Sept. 28 in Chisinau (Moldova).

Azerbaijan was represented at the meeting by the deputy minister of communications and information technologies of Azerbaijan Iltimas Mammadov.

In preparation of the Convention it is recommended to use the experience of Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia on cooperation in the application of information technologies in the exchange of electronic documents in the foreign and mutual between these countries.

The Commission is also in charge of preparing a study regarding the need for the authorized bodies and organizations of the CIS countries to address the problems appeared in implementing technologies and implementation of cross-border information exchange relating to the control over the management of import/export of ICT products with cryptographic functions. In this regard, the RCC commission on economy and communications has been tasked to consider the possibility of holding research and development work in 2011-2013 to create a pilot system of protected trans-border information exchange within the CIS.
