The Azerbaijani Communications and IT Ministry will take concrete steps to privatize public telecommunications operators next year, Minister Ali Abbasov said today.
According to the minister, private companies account for 80 percent of the ICT sector's profits.
"Today, there are only a few non-privatized enterprises, including Aztelecom and Baku Telephone Communications, and their privatization is underway," he said.
Abbasov added that work is underway to finish the two companies' privatization in 2011.
