Azerbaijan, Baku, Dec. 2 / Trend H. Valiyev /

The Azerbaijani AZEL IT company controls 25 percent of the automated banking system market in the country, AZEL President Igor Yakovenko told Trend.

He added that the company recently signed a contract with another Azerbaijani bank to introduce the PROGRESS automated banking system.

The new version was presented by the company in early 2010. It is based on the SAP NetWeaver integration platform. Earlier, the system was based on the Oracle platform.

The system consists of PROGRESS-2020, SAP BusinessObjects and SAP CRM. It includes the rules, settings and reports necessary for working in the Azerbaijani banking sector. The system reflects changes to the Central Bank of Azerbaijan's banking regulations and requirements.

The system allows banking transactions to be carried out, including loans, deposits, transfers, and Internet banking, as well as interaction with processing centers and other banking services.

He said the company is also strengthening its strategic partnership with Oracle, which offers Oracle Financial solutions, earlier known as iFlex.

"We consider it to be quite a good solution," he said. "We are negotiating with a number of banks on the implementation of this system."
