MTS Communications connection in Ashgabat is not fully restored due to technical problems

Russian mobile operator MTS in Turkmenistan, where the number of subscribers exceeds two million, is operating in restricted mode for the third day already. As clients in Ashgabat noted on Saturday technical failures are still underway.

"Despite the fact that the accident was not happened due to the company's fault, the daily fee for Dec.2 and 3 2010 of subscribers with the rate plans envisaging the subscription fee will be refunded.

MTS Turkmenistan also presented its sincere apologies for inconvenience, and expressed gratitude for the understanding of the situation."

MTS planned this month to connect its Internet user subscribers to 3G format, but this has not happened yet.

The permit is issued by the State Corporation "Turkmentelekom" under the Ministry of Communication of the country, which earlier this year issued a similar 3G license to national operator TM Cell.
