The exhibition "Use of ICT in education - knowledge, experience and technology", organized in Baku, demonstrated a high level of penetration of information technologies in educational process in the capital, Education Minister Misir Mardanov said.

"This means that the use of information technologies in education in Baku at a very high level," Mardanov said during the exhibition on Friday.

The exhibition, organized by the Education Department of Baku, presented various programs and technologies using ICT in the educational process.

At present, Azerbaijan actively operates to increase the use of information technologies at schools in the Republic. To this end, the State organizes various programs aimed at the development of ICT in education.

At present, roughly 20 pupils work with one computer in Azerbaijan.

According to the statistics, the figure is 60 times more than that in secondary schools. Roughly 1,036 pupils had to work with one computer for the last five years.

The work on informatization of Azerbaijan's educational system for 2008-2012 is carried out under the state program.

The main objective of the project is to create a unified educational information sphere, which will improve the quality of education and will integrate the country into the global system of education.
