Turkmenistan, Ashkhabad, Sept 19 /Trend/

A delegation headed by Telecom Minister Kapil Sibal met with representatives of the Turkmen government, the state information service reported on Wednesday.

Discussions covered issues on intensifying the realisation of issues reached in top level agreements and broadening beneficial contacts on a long lasting and equal basis.

Talks on the question of establishing closer contact in the information technologies field led by India which happens to be one of the world leaders in this field, was a particular topic at the meetings.

The Indian side expressed its readiness to provide experience, leading products and technologies in a wide range of fields.

Last year a Centre of Information Technologies, established in the framework of a memorandum between the governments of the two countries, signed in Ashkhabad in February of 2010, was launched at Turkmen State University

The main problem of the new centre is the development of highly skilled world class human resources in the ICT field, particularly computer programming. A study course is being constructed in three modules, basic, middle and advanced.

University teachers specially trained by the leading Indian computer technology company C-DAC which supports the project, will supervise the trainees.
