The regional DATA-center construction project will be implemented in Azerbaijan under the auspices of the UN, a source on the country’s telecommunications market told Trend Aug. 27.
“This is a major ICT project, which is supervised by the UN, as the Trans-Eurasian Information Super Highway (TASIM) project,” the source said.
The DATA-center is expected to be put into operation in September. The decision on providing the DATA-center with a Tier3 certification will be made in the near future. The certification is carried out by the US Uptime Institute.
The certificate will confirm that the DATA-center has been established on the basis of the best world standards and it meets the necessary criteria of reliability and security.
Moreover, the DATA-center will comply with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS), which is associated with monetary transactions.
