The state communication operator of Azerbaijan Aztelekom LLC has launched expansion of broadband Internet coverage area for LTE wireless technology, the company told Trend.
Aztelekom nreported that currently wireless Internet covers the territory of two villages in the Khachmaz region win the pilot mode.
"The LTE network is deployed mainly in hard-to-reach places where cable routing is not feasible or unprofitable, and the operator's LTE network will be expanded next year," the company said.
Another project implemented by Aztelekom, which is also aimed at improving the quality and increasing the customer base, involves replacing obsolete and unusable existing cables, optical lines of communication and installing modern distribution facilities.
"These works provide for the replacement of existing equipment to xPON equipment, replacement of the main copper infrastructure and installation instead of switch cabinets, MSAN equipment. At present, all of the above mentioned works have already been implemented at the Khachmaz telecommunications center, "the company added.
