Number of phishing attacks up in Azerbaijan

In February 2018, the number of phishing attacks in Azerbaijan’s segment of Internet increased by 5.8 percent compared to January 2018, according to Netcraft analytical company’s report.

The report said that one phishing attack productive for scammers accounted for 548 sites in the .az domain in Azerbaijan, which accounts for 0.18 percent of all number of online resources registered in the .az domain (about 29,900 sites), according to the report.

The analysis is based on the Netcraft Toolbar program, which is a plug-in for browsers. The program notifies users of a potentially dangerous Internet resources and prevention of a phishing attack.

According to Netcraft, one phishing attack accounted for 173 sites in Ukraine, 1,320 sites – in Uzbekistan, 571 sites – in Russia, 725 sites – in Kyrgyzstan, 781 sites – in Belarus, 302 sites – in Armenia, 317 sites – in Kazakhstan, 391 sites - in Georgia.
