Azerbaijani company launching Pre 5G network

Commercial launch of the Pre 5G fixed-line broadband TD-LTE network of the Azerbaijani company Sazz will start in early April, the company told Trend.

Presently, the network operates in test mode. TD-LTE network covers the center of Baku.

The company has installed six base stations. Data transfer speed in the TD-LTE network reaches 100 megabits per second.

The company's future plans also include covering the capital city and settlements of the Absheron Peninsula with the broadband network, as well as increasing the network capacity to 1 gigabit per second by the end of the first half of 2018.

Sazz is the only operator in Azerbaijan to build a TD-LTE network and positions itself as a company providing fixed wireless access (FWA) services.
