The Institute of Control Systems of Azerbaijan’s National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) plans to apply for a grant of the European Union to continue research on monitoring the state of the cardiovascular system using Robust Noise Monitoring (RNM) technology, Telman Aliyev, director of the Institute, told Trend July 3.

Using this technology in medicine makes it possible to listen to noise in the airways, heartbeat and receive evaluation information about problems in the human respiratory system.

He said that the RNM technology passed a successful test and interested many scientists abroad.

“We are now planning to submit the project to the EU to receive a grant and continue the project at the expense of these funds,” Aliyev said. “Scientists and specialists from various countries will be involved in the project, so we intend to form a consortium.”

Previously, scientists of the Institute conducted experimental work on the application of this technology in medicine, and the results obtained were quite encouraging.

Also, scientists of the Institute developed software algorithms for using the RNM technology in mobile devices. This will be a special program that will allow monitoring of the asymptomatic period of cardiovascular diseases using a mobile phone.
