Baku, Azerbaijan, Sept. 3
By Huseyn Veliyev – Trend:
The Hi-Tech Park LLC of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies of Azerbaijan is implementing an acceleration program for start-up projects, a source in the country's IT market told Trend.
The source of Trend said the project is being implemented successfully and more than 60 applications have been submitted for participation in the program.
"Currently, the selection of applicants is underway. Of the total number of participants, five participants will be selected. And one of the important requirements is that the projects should be export-oriented. While earlier there was only a business incubation center in the Technopark, by the decision of the management of the "Hi-Tech Park", from now on this center will also function as an acceleration center. The difference of the acceleration center is that its participants are given specific conditions and tasks. The acceleration program is designed for the period of four months and during this period, the participants will work with mentors who will be invited from the US, Israel and European countries," the source said.
The source said the projects will be carefully evaluated and then selected for subsequent work, which includes moving the project from scratch to commercialization.
"The selected projects will be presented to both local and international investors. The main goal is to choose a project that has a chance to enter the international market. The grant trips which are planned to be organized jointly with AZAL and Turkish Airlines companies, have been envisaged for project managers. Thanks to this, they will be able to participate in foreign training courses and competitions free of charge," the source said.
