Baku, Azerbaijan, Sept. 14

By Huseyn Veliyev – Trend:

Traffic transit through the network of the leading communications operator of Azerbaijan, Delta Telecom, has reached one terabit per second, the company told Trend.

The source said since the beginning of the year, this figure has increased by 66.6 percent, which allows to reserve the traffic both for domestic consumption and delivery to neighboring countries.

The internet traffic is transported through Delta Telecom’s network to Iran, Iraq, Georgia, Afghanistan and other countries. As the demand grows, the company increases the traffic transit to neighboring countries.

As for the domestic consumption, the growth in transportation of traffic into the country depends on the consumer demand as well.

The biggest volume of internet traffic delivered to end users falls on the state-owned internet providers, BakinterNet ISP and Aztelekom LLC.
