Uzbekistan, India to co-op in innovative, space tech

Uzbekistan and India may create a technology park of software and innovative products, the Ministry of Finance of Uzbekistan announced.

According to the information, Uzbekistan intends to cooperate with the Society of Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) to create modern platforms for developing software products and tools.

Indian partners were invited to consider the possibility of creating a technology park of software and innovative products in Uzbekistan using their experience.

The Society of Software Technology Parks of India was created in 1991 to promote and encourage software exports. It provides legislative and other services to exporters to promote products, encourages the activities of micro, small and medium-sized entrepreneurs by creating favorable conditions for entrepreneurship in the information technology sphere.

The governments of Uzbekistan and India also signed an agreement on cooperation in the exploration and use of space for peaceful purposes.

In accordance with the agreement, the Ministry of Information Technologies and Communications of Uzbekistan together with the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) will carry out joint work in this area.

ISRO is the National Space Agency subordinate to the Department of Space Research of India. The headquarters of the organization is located in Bangalore. The number of employees is approximately 20,000 people.
