By Huseyn Veliyev - Trend:

The sales of Acer products in Azerbaijan will increase about three times this year, Vice President of Acer in REET (Russia, Eastern Europe, Turkey) Grigory Nizovsky told Trend.

He said that this is because the company already has a representative in Azerbaijan, adding that Acer has recently began to work closely with the retailers.

"Retail supplies are carried out not periodically, but in a planned manner now," he said. "Our position in emerging markets is stronger than in developed markets for a number of reasons. We have been present for a long time in Azerbaijan. De facto, we have been doing business in the country since 2006. For long time, we relied on our partners BestComp and DiVi."

Speaking about the project of assembling Acer products in Azerbaijan, Nizovsky noted that in this project the company relies on its partner, as it carries both organizational and financial burden.

"We supply components to the company, help with ideas and expertise on what is better to do," he added. "If we talk about how things really are, I think that the project is successful in terms of PCs, because over the past two years we have supplied quite a lot of desktops to state agencies. Regarding laptops, I think that the project still needs to evolve, because we would like to get some large-scale project. The task here is not to assemble something, but the existence of the supply markets. Therefore, we hope that the Azerbaijani government decides to implement a major project, and we could participate well in that project, from the point of view of both component customization and device customization."

Speaking about Acer’s plans regarding the Azerbaijani market for the coming year, the company’s vice president noted that the company will focus on the business and the public sector.

"I believe that in the public sector our only successful project is the assembly of desktops at the plant in Mingachevir city," he said. "Nevertheless, next year we need some major educational project concerning laptops."
