Azerbaijan’s processing center AzeriCard LLC is updating its mobile app, head of the business development department of the company Jahangir Mammadov told Trend Jan. 31.
He said that the work in this direction is planned to be completed by the end of the first half of this year.
“Updating the app will allow us to offer users contactless payments, along with traditional types of e-payments,” Mammadov said.
He added that 95 percent of the POS terminals serviced by AzeriCard support contactless payments, and it is expected that in the next 3-4 months, the banks serviced by the center will be able to offer their customers the opportunity to pay using NFC technology.
“Already now, tourists arriving in Azerbaijan can make payments in the POS terminals serviced by AzeriCard by using Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, etc.,” Mammadov said.
