Uzbek Ministry signs two agreements with Huawei

The Ministry of Development of Information Technologies and Communications of Uzbekistan signed two Cooperation Agreements with Huawei during the visit of the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov to China, Trend reports citing Uzbek media.

A delegation from Uzbekistan led by the prime minister visited Huawei’s Research and Development Center (R&D) in Shenzhen on August 29.

The company's experts presented cloud services and industry concepts for the digital transformation of the state, such as “safe” city, “smart” city, e-government and e-health.

The prime minister also held talks with the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Huawei Li Jie.

Following the visit, the two cooperation agreements were signed.

The first agreement is aimed at implementing the "Safe City" project throughout Uzbekistan, including the creation of the Unified Dispatch Center 112, smart maps and various subsystems of intelligent control of road traffic, parking lots and video surveillance of public places.

The second agreement provides for cooperation on the introduction of modern ICT technologies in the activities of the emergency medical service.

A Memorandum of Understanding was also signed between the Uzbek mobile communications operator Universal Mobile Systems and Huawei company on the implementation of an investment project to modernize the operator’s technological equipment in order to ensure the most complete coverage of the territory of Uzbekistan.
