Kazakhstan welcomes int'l expertise in country's digitalization(Exclusive)

Expertise of world’s leading companies is welcome in implementation of Digital Kazakhstan state program, technologies are adopted, and cooperation is established to obtain great economic effects and benefits, Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Digital Development, Defense and Aerospace Industry told Trend.

According to the representative of the ministry, implementation of 17 initiatives in five areas is planned within the framework of the program.

“These initiatives are being implemented by state authorities and state companies, as well as by business community, non-governmental organizations and foreign companies, based on various cooperation schemes in accordance with Kazakhstan’s law,” the official said.

He added that the majority of foreign companies are actively participating in implementation of the fifth area of the program, i.e. ‘Innovative ecosystem formation’.

As noted by the representative, 17 laboratories in more than ten fields of the program operate at Astana Hub - International Hub for IT Startups. These fields are: Smart city, Industry 4.0, BigData, Blockchain, Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, Machine learning and others.

Furthermore, R&D centers (laboratories) were also created with participation of international companies such as Lenovo Solutions Lab, CISCO Co-Innovation Lab, Huawei Joint Innovation Centre, Chocofamily, Vardix, Startup with IBM, Big Dream, Intellisense Lab, Blockchain & Big Data lab, IDEMIA, Salem Social Media lab, Aspex Laboratory, Sheberkhana and so on.

For example, the Huawei Kazakhstan joint Innovation center has been created for creation of technological ecosystem for joint manufacturing, adaptation and testing of corporate solutions.

Cisco Systems ‘Co-Innovation Lab’ is increasing qualification of local developers and manufacturers, provides information, equipment availability, and integration into ecosystem. The key areas of development and research of the laboratory are Industry 4.0, Smart City and others.

Startup with IBM Center laboratory was created to provide new startupers and developers with platform for implementation of their projects. Key areas of development and research of the laboratory are Watson Artificial intelligence, Big Data Analytics, Machine Learning, Data Science, Blockchain

Nokia Coffee & Сonnect Area laboratory was created for testing 5G technologies, smart and safe cities, Industry 4.0.

IDEMIA (QIS) is the leading company in development and introduction of technologies in area of public security, digital identification, the Internet of things, solutions for the financial sector and for telecommunications. The company is currently implementing a project in provision of security in air transport based the model of public private partnership.

Lenovo laboratory was created for cooperation in area of IT projects promotion in Kazakhstan.

Digital Kazakhstan state program is a significant complex program, aiming on the elevation of living standards of country’s residents, using digital technologies.

The major goals of the program have accelerated economy growth of of Kazakhstan and have upgraded the living standards, as well as have created conditions for transition on a fundamentally new pathway – future digital economy.
