Turkmen Customs Service fully switches to full-scale electronic customs declaration

ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, Jan. 15

A meeting was held at the Turkmen State Customs Service with Regional Coordinator for Central Asia of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) Dmitry Godunov, Trend reports referring to the customs service.

Turkmenistan’s customs authorities have completely switched to full-scale electronic customs declaration through the introduction of the integrated UNCTAD Automated System for Customs Data (ASYCUDA) World Information System, the report said.

In this regard, discussion of the prospects of bilateral cooperation and joint work on the implementation of ASYCUDA World Information System took place.

The agenda also included the issue of organizing the exchange of necessary data among the customs authorities of neighboring and other states, the report said.

Previously, a training course was organized at the Turkmen State Customs Service to familiarize the personnel with the export module of the ASYCUDA World integrated customs information system.

The purpose of the event was to master the rules for filling in the customs declaration when exporting goods from the Turkmen territory using the export module of the introduced software.

The Turkmen State Customs Service and the UNCTAD signed a technical cooperation project agreement on implementation of the ASYCUDA World integrated customs information system in 2018.
