The turnover volume on all payments via Azerbaijan's www.hesab.az website is growing rapidly, Chairperson of the company's board Naina Mehdiyeva said in an interview with Trend.
Mehdiyeva spoke about the company's plans for the near future, the development of the online payment industry, the dynamics of transaction growth, the expansion of the range of the services, as well as financial research for 2019-2020.
“Being the first such online service on Azerbaijan's market, the improvement of the website's functionality and the growing range of the services make Hesab.az a leader among other websites,” the chairperson said. “The main goal of the company is to stimulate users to use online payments, where there are also offered bonuses."
“We have been recently observing the growth dynamics of transactions through our website,” the chairperson said. “Proceeding from the analysis, the financial research for 2019 shows a great increase in the average amount of transactions compared to 2018.”
“Since the development of Hesab.az, there has been a positive growth in terms of funds, in the demand for the services and an increase in the number of users. While comparing the first quarter of 2020 with the first quarter of 2019, we see an increase in the total online payments turnover by 27 percent and the number of transactions by 20 percent.”
“The indicators continue to grow,” she said. “This is connected with functional innovations presented on the website in the first quarter of 2020, as well as ongoing campaigns.”
“So far, more than 530,000 users have been registered on the website,” Mehdiyeva added. “In accordance with the company’s data, the payments are made on the website worldwide, as well as from Azerbaijan itself. As for , we observe that 90 percent of online payments account for Baku, 4 percent - Sumgayit, 2.5 percent - Nakhchivan, 2 percent - Ganja and 1.5 percent – Khirdalan."
“The website includes more than a hundred online payment services, where users can easily and safely make the necessary payments,” Mehdiyeva said. “In accordance with the statistics, the most popular services are utilities, mobile communication, the internet, fixed telephony services, cable TV, banking services, payment of insurance services.”
“In the field of transaction protection, GeoTrust TLS / SSL Encryption technologies are used to encrypt all payments,” the chairperson said. “GeoTrust is the world leader in data encryption. The entire information is stored on modern servers, where the company's customers are provided with a high level of security.”
“When users make payments via the bank cards, online payments are protected by a firewall service, the bank sends an SMS message first, and the payment is made only after a user's approval,” Mehdiyeva said.
“Our website has a high level of security to protect against cyber attacks, so to date, the Hesab.az website has not been subjected to any cyber attacks,” Mehdiyeva said. “Moreover, the company’s IT department operates around the clock.”
“While comparing the period from March through April with the period from January through February, we see that the total volume of payments via the website increased by 23 percent,” the chairperson said. “Some 30 percent of the total amount of payments account for utilities, 20 percent - mobile communication services, 10 percent - web services and 40 percent - other payments.”
