Kazakhstan’s Astana Hub International Technology Park of IT Startups is aiming to develop relations with country’s regions, Astana Hub representative told Trend.
The representative said that notwithstanding the fact that start-up culture is still new for Kazakhstan, Astana Hub managed to significantly change the ecosystem in a positive direction.
“A number of projects have appeared and the survival rate of startups has increased due to cost reduction and expert support,” Astana Hub said.
The representative noted that at the moment, the Technology Park is facing a number of challenges, including the growth of the number of new start-up projects and attracting more investments.
“The latest data said that 31 projects have passed the training stage with the support of Astana Hub, and by the end of this year, at least 60 startups will be launched. A strong, lively and responsive community has also been formed on the basis of the Technology Park which is perhaps one of the fundamental and necessary changes in the startup culture of Kazakhstan,” the Astana Hub official said.
Talking current situation with startup ecosystem in Kazakhstan, the recalled a study of the US Startup Genome agency, which was held in 2018.
“The study showed that one of the strongest aspects of the startup industry in the capital city of Kazakhstan is the well-established relationship between community members. When founders help other founders, the overall productivity of the ecosystem grows,” the official said.
The Astana Hub representative emphasized that currently, based on the updated report of the Startup Genome agency, the Nur-Sultan city ranks second among fast-growing startups ecosystems, ahead of cities such as Frankfurt, Cairo, Manila and others.
The official also stressed that currently, Astana Hub aims to develop relations with the country’s regions in order to form a chain of a responsive startup community all across Kazakhstan.
