From 2021, access of virtual operators to the mobile network will be possible in Georgia, Trend reports via the National Communications Commission.
As reported, this will allow companies that do not have their infrastructure to connect to the systems of existing mobile companies and thus provide services to customers.
The new rules will facilitate access to the mobile market without high costs, purchase, and installation of expensive equipment necessary for the full operation of a mobile operator.
According to the National Communications Commission, this measure will increase competition in the market, reduce prices, and improve the quality of services.
Currently, the system of virtual mobile operators is actively operating in developed countries, where their number in 2010-2018 increased by 61 percent and reached 1,300. The number of their subscribers is estimated at 260 million people, by 2024 the market of virtual operators will grow by 40 percent.
