Turkmenistan opens new technology center for exporting products

A new electronics and technology center, the production of which is intended both for the domestic market, as well as for export has opened in Turkmenistan, Trend reports, citing “Zolotoy Vek” (Golden Age) newspaper.

The center was opened on the territory of the former Turkmenkabel plant in Turkmenistan's capital - Ashgabat.

The significant funds have been invested in the development and modernization of this plant into the center. On the territory of the plant, radical reconstruction of workshops and sections was carried out, assembly lines were installed, sanitary zones were equipped, a clean room for assembling electronic components and other areas was created.

In general, the electronic industry has started to develop in Turkmenistan. In particular, the digitalization is an important part of electronic industry.

For the development of digitalization, Turkmenistan is working on the formation of the necessary infrastructure.

Also, $10 million were allocated for the creation of IT centers in Ashgabat and the country's regions in early February 2020.

The Concept for the Development of the Digital Economy, developed for the period until 2025, has been implemented in Turkmenistan since early 2019.

The concept is aimed at increasing business and investment activity, implementing advanced methods of public administration, creating new jobs.
