The total turnover of payments on the Hesab.az platform increased by 28 percent in the second half of 2020, compared to the same period of 2019, Chairman of the Board of the company Naina Mehdiyeva told Trend.
According to her, along with the growth in the number of payments, the total number of transactions also increased by 35 percentage points over the specified period.
“Based on these data, we can talk about the demand for online payments, and this demand continues to grow,” added Mehdiyeva.
“In Azerbaijan, as in the entire world, the coronavirus pandemic has contributed to the activation of the process of further transition to non-cash payments,” the chairman said.
For this reason, the demand for online services has significantly increased, including online payment services, and therefore the Hesab.az platform has introduced all the necessary services into its payment system that can be paid without leaving home, she added.
According to Hesab.az data, from March through November 2020, the total turnover of online payments grew by 27 percent compared to the same period in 2019, and the number of transactions by 38 percent.
“Our platform has over 600,000 users, and this figure is increasing every day. Interest in innovation is growing rapidly. For this reason, in order to further increase our audience, in 2021, we are going to introduce a solution for transferring money from card to card, for updating the interface and solutions of the website and mobile application of Hesab.az, as well as providing e-commerce services. Over the next year and beyond, it will already be possible to observe updates in the listed areas. In addition, our team, along with these expanding services, is working towards the introduction of online banking services,” Mehdiyeva said.
From the very first days of the platform's foundation, the Hesab.az team has been observing successful results of its activities, which leads to annual growth of the audience and new trends, both in terms of the number of users, transactions, and payment turnover, she stressed.
“The main reason for this is the constant introduction of new services and solutions. We always try to present new projects and innovative products based on the needs of our users and we keep going down this path,” the chairman said.
“Over the past five years, the amount of transactions on the Hesab.az platform has increased by more than 20 percent, the total turnover of payments has increased by about 30 percent. Every year the number of users is increasing by 10-20 percent compared to last year,” Mehdiyeva noted.
“Currently, more than 600,000 users are registered on the Hesab.az platform. In addition, since the inception of Hesab.az, we have established cooperation with more than 400 companies. These include utilities, landline, and mobile communications, the Internet, banks, insurance companies, movie ticket sales, and many others. Our financial results and positive feedback from users speak of the sustainability of our development,” added the chairman.
