The Yunusabad Business City Directorate under the Tashkent administration and the Uzbek-Korean joint venture East Telecom LLC signed an investment agreement, Trend reports citing data Tashkent’s administration.
According to the information, East Telekom JV LLC will participate in the project for the construction of a business center and data center ET IDC with an area of 0.60 hectares in the Yunusabad Business city.
Tashkent’s administration noted that an increase in hardware and server capacity for processing and storing virtual information is among the primary tasks for the further development of the digital economy.
“The construction of a modern data center will serve as a driver for the development of many industries, since IT projects will receive all the advantages of modern hosting, which can be used by banks and large companies, government agencies, companies representing the service sector and others,” the message said.
The Uzbek-Korean company East Telecom is the first communication operator in Uzbekistan to use technologies and solutions of the so-called Next Generation Network (NGN) to provide services, ensuring the integration of both traditional communication services and new services related to packet data transmission and multimedia services.
Earlier, Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov said that Uzbekistan plans to attract $2.5 billion in the development of digital infrastructure in two years, and three new data centers would be created in Tashkent, Bukhara and Kokand regions.
