The turning of Karabakh into a place of high technologies and innovations in the region is important for the economy and future progress of Azerbaijan, the Azerbaijani Innovation Agency told Trend.

“It is planned to open technology parks and innovation centers in Karabakh. To this end, the Innovation Agency signed a memorandum of cooperation in the field of high technologies with the Turkish ‘Technopark Istanbul’, the agency noted.

“According to the signed memorandum, in order to increase technical knowledge and train young experts in Azerbaijan, it is planned to regularly conduct incubation and acceleration programs, technology transfer programs, as well as an exchange of knowledge and experience,” the agency noted.

Besides, joint seminars, training and conferences will be regularly organized, and most importantly, a joint High-Tech Park will be created in Karabakh.

“The park is planned to conduct the latest ‘soft’ and ‘hard’ research, as well as production of high-tech devices. A special platform will be created for communication of young people and ICT experts with each other, exchange of experience and implementation of new ideas,” the agency added.

The conclusion of such agreements will accelerate the turning of Azerbaijan into a space of high technologies and innovations in the region.

The Innovation Agency of Azerbaijan previously signed a memorandum with the Turkish Bilkent Cyberpark and GOSB (Gebze Organize Sanayi Bölgesi - GOSB) technoparks, located in one of the largest industrial regions of Turkey and supporting about 130 technology companies.
