The Information and Computing Center (ITC) under the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies of Azerbaijan plans to introduce a biometric electronic signature system, Trend reports citing the ITC.
As the ITC stated, the Smart Cell mobile application will save time and prevent unnecessary expenses.
“After installing our mobile application, citizens of the country will be able to carry out a number of operations through biometric confirmation. This decision will be applied in banking, insurance and other areas,” the message said.
The ITC message emphasized that the biometric electronic signature system aims to simplify the automation and confirmation of transactions.
“In the banking sector, the use of a biometric electronic signature will enable using all the products of the organization through its application and the Smart Cell program, without visiting the bank. The database of the Smart Cell application includes data of citizens from the state database, which in real time provides authorization of the user through biometrics,” the message said.
The ITC also noted that it is planned to expand the capabilities of the Smart Cell project in the near future.
