Azerbaijani state structures gradually transition information systems to G-Cloud - ministry

Information systems and resources of Azerbaijan’s 25 state structures have already been colocated in the ‘Government Cloud’, Rashad Bayramov, adviser to the minister of transport, communications, and high technologies told Trend on Apr.23.

According to Bayramov, cloud technologies play an important role in digital development, and the ‘Government Cloud’ ranks high among them.

"The ‘Government Cloud’ was created in Azerbaijan and the concept of the same name (G-Cloud) was approved by Azerbaijani president’s decree No. 718 of June 3, 2019. It was created on the basis of the infrastructure of the Data Center of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies,” he reminded. “Besides, by the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of October 29, 2020, No. 428, the ‘Plan for the transition of state information systems and resources to Government Cloud’ was approved.”

He noted that in accordance with the plan, a gradual transition of information systems of state bodies to the ‘Government Cloud’ has already begun.

"In order to form state information systems and resources and provide electronic services in the existing Data Center and in the models of cloud services, a technological environment has been created in the ‘cloudy’ IaaS service in the ‘Government Cloud’, backup services (back-up), archiving (cold back -up), Windows Server operating system (PaaS), SQL Server (PaaS for database management, AZCLOUD Drive, video conferencing (VCaaS), virtual cloud telephony, ‘cloud’ services and colocation," added Bayramov.
