Number of cyberattacks at Azerbaijan's AzStateNet down

The number of blocked ‘intruders’ in the AzStateNet network slightly decreased in July 2021, Trend reports citing a report of the Computer Incident Response Team (CERT) under the State Agency for Special Communications and Information Security of the Special State Security Service of Azerbaijan.

According to the report, a total of 7,907 ‘intruders’ were blocked in the specified month, which is 5 percent less compared to June 2021.

“The number of ‘intruders’ blocked (based on URLs) settled at 2,820, the centralized anti-virus system (CAS) - 2,354, and the so-called sandbox (a specially isolated environment for the safe execution of computer programs) – 2,733,” the report said.

Nearly 50,000 ‘intruders’ were blocked in Azerbaijan in the first seven months of this year.

In 2020, the number of blocked ‘intruders’ based on URL addresses in the Azerbaijani AzStateNet network amounted to more than 27,850, the CAS - 30,860, by sandbox - 20,202.
