Iran plans to launch new communication satellites

TEHRAN, Iran, Aug. 30

The Iranian government plans to launch 3 communication and remote sensing satellites in the next 4 years, said the Minister of Information Communications Technology, Trend reports citing IRNA.

Abbas Zarepour announced the major topics of his plan include protecting the privacy and security of cyber space and improving the space industry.

"Three communication and remote sensing satellites will be operated by 2025," he said.

Accelerating space industry's growth and targets of 2025 outlooks are achievable by increasing domestic technical capacity for building communication and remote sensing satellite to 80 percent and launching 3 communication and remote sensing satellites, building and putting operative communication satellites in the orbit, and establish at least one communication satellite operator could be some of the steps in this regard, he indicated in his released plan.

The minister has noted support of local technology and services via knowledge-based companies, training specialists in cyberspace security, producing instruments for specialized services for children and young adults in cyberspace and technical infrastructure for supporting user's rights are some of the solutions to protect users privacy in cyberspace.
