BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 4. Azerbaijan has entered the list of top-25 countries with the cheapest cost for broadband internet access, Trend reports referring to UK’s Cable.co.uk analytical website.

According to the website, the CIS is one of the cheapest regions in the world in terms of the cost of broadband internet access.

The average cost of broadband internet access in Azerbaijan makes up $15 (ranking 22th among 220 countries of the world), while in neighboring countries its cost is several times less.

For example, the cost of broadband internet access in Belarus is $7.39, in Ukraine - $7.4, in Russia - $8.07, in Tajikistan - $15.38, and in Turkmenistan - $46.28.

Belarus is third-cheapest in the world overall, ahead of Ukraine (4th) and Russia (5th).

The most expensive internet is in Burundi - $429.95, Sierra Leone - $316.69, Brunei - 258.42, Virgin Islands - $184, Turks and Caicos Islands - $170.5.

The list of countries with the cheapest broadband internet access includes Syria - $2.15, Sudan - $4.8, Belarus - $7.39, Ukraine and Russia - $7.4 and $8.07, respectively.

Overall, data from 6,148 tariff plans in 220 countries were gathered and analyzed by Cable.co.uk between January 19 through March 30, 2022.
