BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 29. Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) continues to develop the concept of digital manat [country’s national currency], Executive Director of CBA Farid Osmanov told Trend.
According to him, the CBA is closely cooperating with international organizations on this project.
"The implementation of digital currency project by any central bank is carried out mainly for the correct conduct and assessment of monetary policy, assessment of monetary transmission mechanisms, the impact of external and internal factors on the country's economy, etc.," Osmanov said.
He added that a number of world central banks have already prepared their concept of digital currency, and some are already testing it.
