BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 2. Azerbaijan's Azericard LLC processing center is implementing a number of major projects jointly with Visa and Mastercard international payment systems, CEO at the center Farid Guliyev told Trend.
According to him, cooperation with these organizations has been established on a long-term basis.
"For instance, we work on improving contactless payments with Mastercard as part of the 'Quick payment' project. This project is currently operating in ASAN service centers. Our focal point is the expansion of this payment method's implementation scope. Now identification is possible through ASAN Login, and it is scheduled to apply another type of identification by 2023. This identification method is expected to use biometric data, not only through face recognition but also through palm scans. Biometric payment will allow us to integrate this payment method in retail outlets," he said.
Speaking of future plans, Guliyev said that Azericard would keep enhancing the technological capabilities of NFC payments.
"In 2019, Azericard launched the possibility of payments through NFC technology for the first time in Azerbaijan, which brought Apple Pay and Google Pay global projects to the country. The development of NFC technology-based solutions will continue in the future," he added.
