BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 14. The Decree of President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev "On Amendments to the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated December 18, 2018, No. 410 "On strengthening the necessary state support to expand access to financial resources for entrepreneurs operating on the liberated territories, and on approving the "Procedure for borrowing and providing guarantees on behalf of the Republic of Azerbaijan" was published this week, Trend reports.

It was reported that in accordance with the decree "Electronic loan and Guarantee" information system will be created in the country, and the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan must ensure its creation within six months and take the necessary measures jointly with the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport in order to integrate the mentioned system into the "e-government" information system, as well as resolve other issues.

Besides, this week the electronic information resource of the Cabinet of Ministers of Azerbaijan's Nakhchivan has been transferred to the gov.az zone - nnk.gov.az, and work continued to strengthen the security and registration of web pages of state bodies of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic in the gov.az zone.

Meanwhile, the Special Communication and Information Security State Agency – Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT) said that the number of cyber security-related requests in Azerbaijan amounted to 6,383 in 2022, out of which 94.76 percent (6,049) were reviewed and satisfied.

The CERT also noted that last year it prepared and sent 553 reports to the relevant structures, based on the information security audit, 58 domains and 189 subdomains were registered in Azerbaijan's internet segment.

According to CERT, the number of blocked computer threats in the Azerbaijani AzStateNet network reached 356,232 in 2022 (an increase of 2.3 times).

The number of threats blocked based on URLs amounted to 96,085, the centralized anti-virus system (CAS) - 37,287, and 222,860 were blocked by the so-called sandbox system (a specially isolated environment for the safe execution of computer programs), CERT added.

This week, AzerTelecom and Kazakhtelecom, the leading telecommunications companies of Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan, have signed an "Agreement on the terms of cooperation" within the framework of the project on laying a fiber-optic communication line (FOCL) along the bottom of the Caspian Sea.

The Trans-Caspian Fiber-Optic Communication Line project along the bottom of the Caspian Sea on the Azerbaijan-Kazakhstan route is part of the large-scale “Digital Silk Way” project, which envisages the formation of digital telecommunication corridor between Europe and Asia.

Telecom operators expressed confidence that the project will serve as a driver to accelerate the formation of a new digital telecommunications corridor and help reach a higher level of development of a high-speed and secure data transmission infrastructure, as well as strengthen trade and other ties.
