BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 21. Turkish ‘Turan Teknoloji Anonim Sirketi’ (Turan) financial company informed this week about the launch of commission-free money transfers from Türkiye to Azerbaijan, Trend reports.
The company said that through its Turan app, money transfers from Türkiye to all cards of Azerbaijan can be made instantly and without commission.
Besides, the company shared its plans to establish commission-free money transfers from Azerbaijan to Türkiye through bank cards.
Besides, this week, number of Azerbaijani citizens who visited Turkish online trading platforms in 2022 (nearly 2.7 million) was announced.
The highest share (about 70 percent) of Azerbaijan's traffic fell on the Trendyol platform. Nearly 8.33 percent of the traffic accounts for LC Waikiki and 6.66 percent - for Hepsiburada.
It was also noted that Türkiye's top 15 companies - Trendyol, Waikiki, Hepsiburada, Flo, Amazon Turkiye, Defacto, N11, Morphipo, Ciceksepeti, Boyner, Mediamarkt, Vatanbilgisiyar, A101, Teknosa and Vivense - annually attract $1.1 billion in profits from Azerbaijan.
Along with the above, it was reported this week that the EU is set to provide a grant of one million euro to the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport to improve competition and regulation in Azerbaijan’s telecommunications sectors, as well as to strengthen the borrowers’ corporate governance.
Meanwhile, it was noted that the average download speeds for Azerbaijan's mobile and broadband internet access were 34.93 Mbps (0.95 percent more than the previous month) and 27.15 Mbps (a growth of 0.6 percent), respectively, in December 2022. Azerbaijan has made its way up to 118th from 116th by data transfer rate on broadband internet access in the Speedtest Global Index ranking, and ranked 61st among 141 countries in mobile data download speed.
